Imam Kazim (as) was suffering from the Abbasid caliphs and was arrested and imprisoned by them several times. During the caliphate of Harun al-Rasheed, he was imprisoned and tortured for four years (from Shawwal 179 AH until his martyrdom in 183 AH)
