On the Dey of Ashura, there were only seven martyrs gathered by the bedside. Among them was Jawn bin Huwai, the black slave of Abu Dharr Ghaffari. While lying on his bed, the lmam uttered, “May God grant him the companionship of the righteous on the Day of Resurrection.”
